Biography
About
Korean baritone Junseok (Jason) Hwang is a Resident Artist at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia and a 2026 Renée Fleming Artist.
A 2023 graduate of The Juilliard School, where he studied with William Burden, he sang Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Il Marito in Amelia al Ballo and Spinelloccio in Gianni Schicchi. He has also sung Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival.
He was a finalist in the 2023 Giulio Gari Competition. After completing his military service in Korea, he returned to the stage in 2026 as a semi-finalist and Special Contract Prize winner at the Cascais International Voice Competition in Portugal.
